One in four people experiences a mental health problem and many more are touched by its consequences. Mental illness is a complex experience; often people face difficult barriers such as exclusion and isolation, as well trying to cope with a very debilitating condition.
Your donation means immediate and practical help for people in crisis and distress:
£10 can save a life. Through our helpline we can provide 25 minutes of emotional support and practical help to someone in crisis.
£25 allows us to respond to and help 3 vulnerable people – by phone, email and our online Support Forum.
£100 enables us to answer 12 emails from family, friends and carers concerned about the welfare of someone they love.
£500 means we can provide regular monthly befriending and compassionate care to 60 people for a year.
£1,000 allows us to invest in the training and development of a SANE volunteer through our in-house specialist programme. Over the course of a year, this volunteer will support 575 people. Currently we have a team of 140 volunteers, who provide 26,000 hours of emotional support services each year. The training is endorsed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and accredited by the Open College Network at NVQ Level 3 equivalent.
£5,000 enables us to put a Black Dog statue onto the street as part of our 25th Anniversary Black Dog Campaign. This statue raises awareness, more vital campaign funds and enables us to support 300 people in need.
Your kind donations make all of this possible - thank you so much.
