Comfort for all of us
At the beginning of lockdown I tuned in to what seemed like every news item and every daily update from Westminster. But as this year heads into winter it’s not surprising now that everyone has had enough of 2020 and is getting weary.
With all the uncertainty, I was thinking what could help? What could help to be a part, even if it’s a small part, but a help, an anchor of hope, a wee flicker of light?
Of course, we all have our own thoughts, beliefs, and today, for me, one word that helped was – comfort.
If my anxiety is triggered, that is when I really feel the need to be comforted. I think we all deserve comfort at the moment. And for me, comfort comes in different ways.
For me, if I feel anxious, I’m going to watch that extra episode I was keeping to another time. I’m going to play that random song that I like. I’m going to contact my pal and say hi and I’m going to have that biscuit with my cuppa.
And I’m going to remind myself we are all in this together. None of us are alone. There are some amazing people and organisations who are there to listen and to help, and to offer comfort. Comfort for all of us.
