"Mental health is as important as physical health in these worrying and stressful days when there is so much uncertainty.

"For those who are already vulnerable through depression, anxiety and other conditions, the prospect of isolation may be hard to face. By keeping our lines open, we are striving to continue to offer some reassurance, inner strength and hope."

In these difficult times our Chief Executive, Marjorie Wallace, offers the SANE credo for surviving the coronavirus pandemic in the days ahead.

SANE - keep negative thoughts at bay and nurture your inner calm and resources.

Accept the situation you find yourself in and the restrictions placed on your life.

Non-judgemental - be tolerant in your response to other people's words and actions and don't judge yourself too harshly.

Empathy - try to understand that another person may, through no fault of their own, be more vulnerable than you and schedule time each day with someone who may need you.
