Needing certainty, control and order

Without trust, life is full of uncertainty - stressful and anxiety-provoking. For some, this is unbearable.

One way to cope is to attempt to take control, for example by working hard to guarantee the outcome. If things don’t go to plan, it can seem catastrophic to someone vulnerable to suicidal feelings.
