Hello - I’ve a long list of mental health diagnoses with the very latest being eupd and probable autism. My question is how do you cope with bereavement that hasn’t occurred yet? My niece is 17 and dying. She and her younger brother have a rare genetic life limiting disease and I’ve just found out today that she’s in the final stages. I’m a bit disconnected from my family currently, having experienced a serious decline in my mental health in recent months. I sent my brother a text saying I’m still ‘here for him’ but he hasn’t replied. But that’s up to him he’s obviously got a lot to deal with right now. I’m just a bit worried what my reaction might be when she finally dies. Hope this makes sense? I do now have a care coordinator and psychiatrist but we’re all new to each other and I don’t find it easy to pick up the phone and ask for help. That’s why I’m posting here. Well done if you’ve read this far! And thank you.
