There are to many things to list so I'll just say what I've been doing today.
I've been trying to revive some old pocket watches, some tick then stop and some didn't tick at all, so What I did was take them apart and clean all the pieces in some cleaning liquid to soak and loosen any grime then after that, they went into the ultra sonic cleaner and left to dry then a final rinse in some IPA to get rid of any water and to dry them. I then put the movements back together, I have no clock oil so I ordered some. 3 of the watch movements are now happily ticking away and a couple of others had no change I expect that parts get worn and sometimes some pocket watches need a bit more than just a clean but I will repair those ones another day. Once my oil arrives I will have three nice fully working pocket watches.
