Eli Moon explains the inspirations for his song: "'I guess it was the first time I was able to articulate my true feelings without being cryptic. Stasis is an accurate depiction of my life one year ago. Writing the song was the beginning of an honesty I had developed with myself. I started being way more open about the things I was going through, and that helped a great deal. It showed me that by admitting emotions I was feeling, I was able to observe them and let them go."
