Peak District Challenge

Take in the surroundings of the stunning Peak District National Park on an adventure you won’t forget. The Peak Distict Challenge features endurance events for a wide range of fitness and ages.

Whether you’re a walker and new to challenge events, an experienced trekker, a marathon enthusiast upping the distance, or a seasoned ultra runner – there’s an Ultra Challenge for you! Your challenge, your way – you can choose distances of 100km, 50km, 25km or 10 miles – walk, jog, or run as an individual or a team.

The Peak District Challenge is fun, safe, and rewarding – with full support all the way, enabling you to push yourself further in some fantastic rugged countryside.

Peak District Challenge

When: 8-9 July 2023

Where: Bakewell, Derbyshire

Distance: 100km, 50km, 25km or 10 miles

Registration fee: Depends on chosen distance

Fundraising target:  Depends on chosen distance

The Peak District Challenge starts and finishes at a basecamp hub in Bakewell. There’s camping all weekend for you and your supporters – and with food choices, a bar and entertainment – it will be a weekend to remember!


Challenge Options

Full Continuous – 100km – Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July – A figure-8 loop north and south of the Peak District along trails and a route which will amaze you.

Full 2-Day ‘Daylight’ – 100km – Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July – Breaking down the full route into two halves of 50km per day starting and finishing in Bakewell.

1st Half Challenge – 50km – Saturday 8 July – This loop takes the north route which is the toughest with steep ascents and descents taking you into the heart of this beautiful landscape.

2nd Half Challenge – 50km – Saturday 8 OR Sunday 9 July – You can either support someone taking on the Full Challenge, joining them on the route from 5pm Saturday onwards; or take on the 2nd Half Challenge from 6-6.30am on Sunday for a scenic adventure along the southern route. 

1st Quarter Challenge – 25km – Saturday 8 July – Bakewell > Tideswell – the route is a tough section with steep ascents and descents taking you into the heart of this beautiful landscape.

Bakewell Loop – 25km – Sunday 9 July – A looped route starting and finishing in Bakewell, taking in the best of the Derwent Valley Herritage Way and Combs Dale.

Bakewell 10 – 10km – Saturday 8 July – A 10-mile loop starting and finishing in Bakewell, taking in the best of the Derwent Valley Herritage Way along The River Derwent, up to Chatsworth  House.


Joining Options

1. SELF FUNDING

You pay the full cost of the event place – fundraise whatever you want, with no set target or deadline, and there’s no cost at all to the charity!

Full Challenge – 100km
£198 – fee paid online & no fundraising commitment.

Half Challenge – 50km
£129 – fee paid online as & no fundraising commitment.

Quarter Challenge – 25km
£79 – fee paid online & no fundraising commitment.

10K Challenge (self fund only)
£25 – Adult price
£12.50 – under-16

2. SPONSORSHIP FOR CHARITY

Pay half of your place and fundraise a smaller target for SANE.

Full Challenge – 100km
£30 – registration fee PLUS at least
£595 – charity sponsorship

Half Challenge – 50km
£20 – registration fee PLUS at least
£395 – charity sponsorship

Quarter Challenge – 25km
£10 – registration fee PLUS at least
£250 – charity sponsorship

3. Mixed Funding

Pay half of your place and fundraise a smaller target.

Full Challenge – 100km
£110 – registration fee PLUS at least
£330 – charity sponsorship

Half Challenge – 50km
£72.50 – registration fee PLUS at least
£218 – charity sponsorship

Quarter Challenge – 25km
£45 – registration fee PLUS at least
£135 – charity sponsorship
