What do changes proposed in the Draft Mental Health Bill mean for you?
A Joint Committee has been established by the House of Lords and the House of Commons to consider the Draft Mental Health Bill, which aims to make the Mental Act fit for the 21st century.
It is seeking views on how the draft Bill could be improved and how any identifiable issues could be resolved, including patient autonomy and safety, detention, addressing inequalities, and the impact of the proposals on the workforce.
To improve understanding of how people might be affected by the draft Bill, the Joint Committee is inviting patients, families, carers, practitioners, service users and others to complete a short online survey.
Responses will form part of the Joint Committee’s report, and extracts from individual responses may be included anonymously.
For details about the survey go to bit.ly/draftmentalhealthbill
The deadline for responses is 23:59 on Friday 16 September 2022.
