Cocoon

Wrapped up tight,
Soft and warm.
Wrapped up tight,
Safe from harm.

No-one else,
On my own.
No-one else,
Me alone.

Caring hug,
In my shell.
Caring hug,
Escape my hell.

Can't get out,
Want to sleep.
Can't get out,
In too deep.

Escape the world,
Confused head.
Escape the world,
In my bed.

She won't cry

“Everything’s fine,” she said.
‘Everything’s fine’ but still she bled.
Everyday she tells the same lie,
And she won’t cry, no she won’t cry.

“We need to say,” they said,
“We regret that your Gran is dead.”
Even when a loved one dies,
She won’t cry, no she won’t cry.

“Now don’t you tell,” he said,
As he forced her upon the bed.
He taught her she should’ve been shy.
But she won’t cry, no she won’t cry.

“It’ll get better,” he said.
But how many tears has she shed?
Not one, her eyes still remain dry,
‘Coz she won’t cry, no she won’t cry.

Words cannot express how much I want to be a new person. To understand happiness and to no longer be numb.

To be spontaneous without crying with fear.

To love without feeling worthless.

To find support without feeling like a burden.

To enjoy a moment without analysing it.

To be a new person will never happen. To change my mind set... It might happen.

This poem is about how much I need my medication... (not alcohol lol)

My world in a microscope
Closer and larger than life
Patterns beguile the truth
Never ending as a fern on the breeze
Twisted and turning, in a hall of mirrors
The leaves bear no reflection
To what ugly cold shapes emerge

I'm screaming inside
The torment, surely
"It can't be like this"
And then I remember
My Saviour
I drink it down
The lens becomes clear
The demons invisible
And all is peace.

[quote="hopesprings"]A poem I wrote in better times.........

Sail away upon my river
Rest your trust upon my shore
Drape your hope over my branches
Dive to my ocean floor

Really lovely, sounds like it should be set to music

The Wonderful Thing About Depression

The wonderful thing about Depression
For Depression is a very real thing
Your head feels like its made of rubber
Your life loses all of its spring
You're lonely, empty, lost all your fight
Forgotten how to have fun!
But the most wonderful thing about Depression
Is you're not the only one.

Religious Soup

Green grass eyes, piercing my winter winds,
swords sharp and cutting, pink neon lights aggravate,
castles of power, washing sight with electric blue,
gold-dust skill under old stars, night shining light.
Fly poetry, stun and bind, sometimes blind,
many rats on grimy roads, cats ready for attack,
politely policing ways of a past for a clean future,
further casting, fastening strings between doors.
Smelling rain, spectrometers alive and buzzing,
no blunder for teen wonder, faithful guts, a life severe,
no fear though, playing with dough, skyscrapers or rockets?
Sounds spilling in, rippling annoyance, butterflies fly,
fish swim, but bird conquers all with a shroud and a smile.
Red soil spreading beneath, soaked outside of packs,
the lone ranger, stranger or couple, hills bathed in sunshine,
growing up or maybe shrinking down, who tells a day?
Carefully careless, a kind of mental masturbation,
this rock in interstellar gulfs complexities attatched,
streams flowing to oceanic depths, then a bereavement,
tastes stale, sadly peace grips harder,
bottling fizz; undo, undo! rename then call it a new,
know the spirals on backs of hands, in middles of heads,
the outside is inside like divine influence, omnipotence.
Frequent vibrations into sustinence or suckers.
Two sides or one split, schisms strongly supposed,
cells spliced contantly, life as we suspect so.
trips long, hard, charred, but still wet on waters,
borders broken, still smoking after opposite verbs.
Jazz blazes away, fads fading to grey in the half-light.
Evading the dubiously contemplative noose,
once upon a time this was a man confused.

Miserum.

BAlloons of many colours sanctifying clowns,
red noses and flowers spurting joy,
fall soon any allure tanks flying gowns
fed roses on towers, flirting boy.

Tinsle.
Reminiscing permanent markers dispute,
cold silence echoes verisimilitude,
four letters and numbers sketching maps,
grave ties and roots lecturing gnats,
sockets and plugs, power to people,
shatters glass how tall is a steeple?
leaning towers for added effect,
steel freedom and reflect,
lines blurring, verbs nouns, adjectives combine,
reading between unseen, writing in brine.

Unnamed Sonnet

Gold-dust was th ekey to the green place,
it's all in the soul and never in the face,
Trance warfare and hardcore spells, bad ways,
never had so much fun in all my days,
the unseen, predicted and ancient, alive,
instead of lifting, try taking a dive,
and delve, and uncover, but gently please,
forceful actions take place, but that's just tease,
giving sight to the blind and arms for skill,
when the end of days arrives, everyone has their fill.
work together, peace, understanding, virtues replayed,
often reminded of ways of a time decayed,
to the father the power, the circle, the dove,
all it comes down to is evanescent love.

Mental murder
Liquid dreams in fiery nights, almost shrewn out,
over bedsheets in reverence, pavements distant,
freshly cut flowers await nourishment, stalks stout.
bees intruding was the revolver, tiffs chant,
shaving temples laid in stone, secretly inllusion,
frames fold spoke the red giant stare,
silence, then a scream, cloaked getaway rolls.
Precision incisions and cardiac constitutions tear,
a borderline sanity rips apart two souls.
