silence is soothing
Silence is deafening
Tears are joyful
Tears are painful
Pain is essential
Pain is comforting
Throughts are safe
Throughts are dangerous
2 halves to one whole
Or am I whole

Sometimes the things you say are so honest and real, you seem impenetrable and I don't know how to talk to you. You are so profound. Be safe and happy and wise

It looks like that the poets from all around the world has been gathered over here and showing their writing talent. nevertheless it's great to see this dying art is getting on top again.

A million stars up in the sky
one shines brighter I can't deny
A love so precious a love so true
a love that comes from me to you...

what can i say
i have so many thoughts
that i want to say
am i insane
am i normal
or am i just bad
i dont know anymore
im numb to the core, i cant feel, love or cry
i push away my daughter, i cant cuddle, kiss or laugh
she wants me to hug her and say goodnight
my mind says no, she might bite
i dont want to get hurt anymore
will she hurt me too

Hey :) My name's Paul and I suffer with severe/refractory OCD. I'm currently participating in an intensive inpatient treatment programme at the national OCD/BDD unit, Springfield Hospital London. I love to write, whether it's poetry, short stories, articles etc. I have been working on a blog for a while, and during my treatment here, I have been able to actually get it live and online. Below is one of the Poems I have written about my OCD. If you like it, and would like to read more, or some of my short stories and articles on mental health then please check out my site/blog.

Thanks, Paul Xx

Rumination Station

Slowly chugging to a familiar stop
The brakes shriek, as I sullenly stare, at the stagnant clock
A station I know, I know all too well
Its insipid sights, its sapless smell.

Alone, I sit, and wait
I ponder, think, analyse and debate
Stuck in a twisted, torturous, pensive state

I could power this train if its fuel were frustration
But its wheels remain locked
By perpetual, pointless, perverse, analysation
All that awaits, is a fate of total procrastination
If you choose to stop, at rumination station.

Hey Amaya,

Thank you for reading my poem. Sorry to hear that you too have found yourself in that place before. I hope you are getting help and support. I've been having some therapy and am starting to visit that station less and less, and when I find that I do pull up at it, I am able to get going again and move on much more quickly and easily than I used to be able to. Stay strong and keep going, it really is possible to get on top of this thing and learn to manage it. Hope you have a nice weekend.

Paul Xx

Thanks Paul, and yes I am in the process of trying to find the right diagnosis and treatment for myself now.

Glad to hear things have progressed somewhat for you :)
You have a good weekend too!
