I'm 30-years-old and I'm very obese and depressed. I always think if I were skinny, I’d be happy. I've been stuck in my room for 2 weeks. What should I do?

Hi Sarah,

Sorry to hear that. Most of the time, it's not being skinny in itself that makes you happy, but associated feelings. Being more comfortable with yourself, having a better prospect for the future, and feeling and being healthier, are the main sources of happiness when you're at a healthy weight.

You've taken the first step, and that's realising that your weight isn't healthy. The next steps of acceptance are to realise that you need to change things, and that you need support in order to make that change. Like capitalt said, seeing your GP is a great point of contact to go to. You may feel you're stuck in your room, but every day you can make the choice to go and do something about your weight. Don't wait any longer!x

Much love <3
