Booted off Benefits

Postby dssarescum » Sun Dec 10, 2017 10:56 pm

hi all, ive been off work a number of years due to depression/anxiety i was on income support of about £105pw

just had to go for a 1 on 1 interview a month ago to see if i can get the new ESA employment and support allowance because government are ending income support , the idiots who created the assessment clearly came up with a 1 size fits all set of questions that if answered honestly has nothing really to do with mental health so ive now been phoned by DSS and told ive got 2 more payments and then money stops ! i refuse to go claim jobseekers as i wont be looking for work , i wonder what Sane have to say about these assessments ? its a test you cant pass surely Sane need to speak to government and create an assessment for mental illness sufferers. really crazy system the government have..do they really want skint mentally ill people in society ? next time i read in a paper someones been robbed/burgled etc ill think was that someone thrown off benefits. so what self employed jobs can people start with next to no money ???? the government are mad for doing this

You need to go to the citizens advice bureau and get someone to help you make an appeal.

In my view no one with mental health struggles should ever fill a benefits application form out without getting someone to help, it is really hard to answer the questions in the right way if you don't know how they assess you.

hi and thanks for a reply, well i used citizens advice years ago when in debt and although volunteers there mean well the wait time is crazy where i am to be seen plus they then dont do much. i feel an apeal is pointless as the government are clearly out to say everyones fit to work even if theyre not

id rather try to find a way to make some money, so im honestly asking what job can people create with very little money ( if i sell a few posessions etc i could scrape together £1-2000 maybe..thats my budget to start some business ! if that fails i fear a life of crime will begin
wish i was joking

You need to appeal if you can't work otherwise your life will become a mess. You don't want that. If it doesn't work and you have to do those other things, then so be it. But don't give up before you try. So what if it is a long waiting list for specialist help from the CAB.. better than nothing. Their benefits experts are really good, they got me ESA.

Good luck!

The government are shocking though. Agree with that part.

i just cant be bothered to deal with the DSS, the system is hard enough for a completely sane person to deal with and im not 100% ! im not making myself worse having anything to do with those scum bags, the government have made it clear that no matter what mental health problem you have they feel your able to work so ill see if i can make any money however i can, if it all goes wrong ill go out in style is all i can say : )

Dear D,
What sort of business are you thinking of starting? Before you sell your stuff, why not go to your local MIND chapter and see if they give help in business start ups?
There might be organisations funded by your local council (strangely enough), that could give you advice in working for yourself too.

Still go to the CAB though, even if you think it is not worth the effort, as you never know what sort of help or leads you might find there. Still appeal, but get help, either from MIND or your CAB or both.

I'm just about to register with the job centre, I have awful depressions, exhaustions and anxiety. I have registered with them before, at the time they had a disabilities officer to help people with disabilities get into work. I panicked and took a job that really wasn't suitable and that made me more ill.
Now, I'm going to document my experiences of looking for work and working and I am going to publish it on social media.

I think you are right to be angry, but don't let the Bastards ruin your life.

P.S.
there must be a way that this can be turned around to your advantage. So don't give up.

it now about 2 weeks since my money stopped causing me huge stress , i havent felt this low in a long while. Does anyone from Sane read these posts ? i hope journalists read these posts to expose whats really going on in Britain in the 21st century. people with mental illness eg depression are having their money stopped completely as ive said i cant deal with making a claim for jobseekers or whatever its now called . surely dss could simply transfer people off 1 benefit over to another but that would be a kind thing to do so they dont do that, i honestly believe they want suicides they want rid of us like hitler gassed the sick. Conservatives are evil scum causing crime, i can see how people end up pick pocketing or doing street robberys or burglarys, the government are the cause.

OK so ive now had no money coming in from our Caring Government who know how to look after people with mental health problems for about 2 months so lets do a poll, in that time what do you think ive had to do ?

1 steal purses from people out shopping
2 burgle Houses looking for cash and jewellry
3 break car windows and steal items left inside
4 mug people for their wallets using cover of darkness
5 steal from shops so i have food and toiletries
6 all of the above

5? If I was in your position - and I nearly have been, I'd beg on the streets and maybe steal from supermarkets. Getting arrested may turn out to be a good thing, for I'd get the needed attention, and just maybe something positive would get done about it.

Btw - I agree with your sentiments in your previous post. This 'caring' system is a sick joke, for over the past 4 years I've seen what their idea of 'care' actually means: caring for their own jobs, positions, status and insane bureaucracy, while only pretending to care for the vulnerable, marginalised and oppressed in one of the wealthiest, greediest and most uncaring countries on the planet.
