Alone - support appreciated

Postby lobster » Wed Feb 21, 2018 7:16 pm

Hi, I have a support worker because of circumstances.

I am the only person I know who has a support worker. This can really get me down and confused.

I have an acquired brain injury and depression. The effects of my brain injury are invisible - ie to do with mood and complex brain stuff. I know a few others who have (invisible, ie not in a wheelchair or walking with a stick) brain injuries but they have not got/chosen not to have a support worker. Possibly because of the soul destroying assessments and bureaucracy?

I was really struggling before the support worker came along. Now things are alot better. But I am having difficulty accepting this situation.

Thanks in advance.
Lobster.

Hi Lu

Thanks for your reply.
I know it is logical for me to have a support worker but atm I just feel sad about it which is a bit stupid as I can't change my situation.

It's nice to know some-one else has had one.
