Re: There goes the trust

It's a crap situation. I would definitely have a chat with the rep at earliest opportunity. Am I right in thinking your employers know about your mental health? Do you think it would help to be open with management about why you were trying to talk to people? I'd be tempted to be contrite, tell them...

Re: Hello

Hi SunnyRose! Nice to meet you too. This can be a quiet forum and often the regulars, like me, aren't up to / feeling like responding but every post is read by someone. There is no hierarchy here so please feel free to tell us about yourself or join in on any thread. The only rule that matters is th...

Re: Work

Hi Em! I didn't see anything negative in your reply. I was worried I was coming across as pushing you to go! Isn't anxiety daft, all that mind-reading and jumping to wrong conclusions. I was really pleased that you CHOSE not to go because Em did not want to go and you have concrete proof that ...

Re: Emotional resilience and the impact of its lack

Thanks Maisi! Diary Entry In my last post I said 'Now I can identify and recognise the fear I can work on letting it go all the time. My hope is that letting go of the fear will enable me to cease bracing for impact which will allow me to behave proactively which will reinforce that there is nothing...

Re: Peer Support Groups

Hi Andy I find peer support groups incredibly helpful. A lot of groups come and go so web links, etc are out of date. I would contact your local MIND. They are likely to either run or be able to recommend a group. My NHS mental heath trust funds a charity to run such groups that are recommended by l...

Re: Work

"Decided against the party not because of others but because I -Em- don't want to go for me. " That's fantastic! Well done you. TBH I only offered the advice because you asked for it. it sounded like it wouldn't be a great experience for you or any teetotal woman. If it helps, I make deci...

Re: There goes the trust

That's horrible. Those pressure cooker type environments can lead to all sorts of nonsense, especially accusations. Are you in a union or anything? I would definitely try to find someone with the right knowledge base to go to any further meetings.

Re: New member

Hi

My best wishes to you. I hope it is nothing but well done you for dealing with it rather than putting your head in the sand.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Re: Work

EMMMMMM! The staff party You cope well enough with them day to day and you also cope with my sense of humour so I'm sure you can cope with them for a couple of hours. Pompoms and all ;) . Strategies 1. Set a length of time you will stay. If there is a meal then staying for one hour after the meal is...
