Re: Christmas do with colleagues anxiety

Just be vague, they won’t know, ‘I’ve got to be somewhere/ I’ve promised to help a friend out’ ‘ I have some errands to run before tomorrow, have a good Christmas, bye.’ Sort of thing.

Good luck.

Re: Christmas do with colleagues anxiety

Hi It’s weighing up the human need for some interaction with the need to self protect. In case it’s if any help a lot of people find these gatherings difficult / awful. Even those who look at ease. You say you have bought yourself a fancy top for it which makes me think you’d quite like to go. If yo...

Sleeping as a coping mechanism

Hello When everything gets too much for me I sleep. It helps me cope. My family has excluded me from a family break. They know I am unable to have a break on my own due to my MH. I don’t have anyone I can go away with. I don’t think it unreasonable to feel shut out and not listened to by them. Atm I...

Think I need to get this sorted

Um, ok, I have been living with the effects of an invisible brain injury for many decades now. I had a brain haemorrhage in my teens, then surgery. I woke up with a massive headache one morning, my Mum went out shopping, and I collapsed while she was out. The only person in was my sister who found m...

Re: Alone - support appreciated

Hi Lu

Thanks for your reply.
I know it is logical for me to have a support worker but atm I just feel sad about it which is a bit stupid as I can't change my situation.

It's nice to know some-one else has had one.

Alone - support appreciated

Hi, I have a support worker because of circumstances. I am the only person I know who has a support worker. This can really get me down and confused. I have an acquired brain injury and depression. The effects of my brain injury are invisible - ie to do with mood and complex brain stuff. I know a fe...

Re: Having difficulty counting my blessings

Thanks both for your replies, it means alot to me. Am feeling more positive now. I hope you are doing ok. January is a difficult month.

I went to the gym to get the endorphins going and did two classes which really helped.
