Think I need to get this sorted

Um, ok, I have been living with the effects of an invisible brain injury for many decades now. I had a brain haemorrhage in my teens, then surgery. I woke up with a massive headache one morning, my Mum went out shopping, and I collapsed while she was out. The only person in was my sister who found m...

Re: Alone - support appreciated

Hi Lu

Thanks for your reply.
I know it is logical for me to have a support worker but atm I just feel sad about it which is a bit stupid as I can't change my situation.

It's nice to know some-one else has had one.

Alone - support appreciated

Hi, I have a support worker because of circumstances. I am the only person I know who has a support worker. This can really get me down and confused. I have an acquired brain injury and depression. The effects of my brain injury are invisible - ie to do with mood and complex brain stuff. I know a fe...

Re: Having difficulty counting my blessings

Thanks both for your replies, it means alot to me. Am feeling more positive now. I hope you are doing ok. January is a difficult month.

I went to the gym to get the endorphins going and did two classes which really helped.

Having difficulty counting my blessings

I know I am lucky in many respects, ie there is a roof over my head and I have food on the table and clothes to wear. But I also feel empty. Alot of stuff I have is stuff I don't want. I am on anti-depressants and am unable to hold down a job as I have an acquired brain injury which, on a bad day, m...

Re: Upset

Hi Chris, Thanks for your words of encouragement. It was very kind of you. Sorry to hear about your experience with your brothers response to your granddaughters name. I'm sure it's a lovely name. I am feeling a bit stronger now and was able to spend time with family last night. (They have travelled...

Upset

I have depression. I also have a support worker. My support worker drove me to the family house as we had family visiting who I hadn't seen in years. My sister had bought X flowers, cooked lunch and then cooked supper. This is because the family member is in a wheelchair and going out for meals woul...

Melt down

Not good. Have depression, plus brain injury. Live alone. Few friends. One support worker. Find it hard being with married couples who have kids, pets, careers and are planning holidays abroad. Was with married couple (normal, healthy i.e. alien) today. Managed to go for a walk this evening. Asked a...

Re: Nothing really matters

Hi Debs Thanks for your reply. Just to let you know I am feeling alot better today. The bloke who mowed me down goes to court soon and then it will all be over. Except now I have metal in my arm. I wonder if anyone else out there has metal in their arm? I hope you are doing ok. Best wishes Lobster x

Nothing really matters

I have depression. I was recently involved in a hit and run which put me in hospital. It is being dealt with by the courts. It has been in the papers.
I get up each day, I do stuff, courses, cook, then I go home. And the next day is the same, and the day after that.
