SANE comment on the Care Quality Commission's Monitoring the Mental Health Act report
Added: 6th Feb 2020

Please find below comment from Marjorie Wallace, chief executive of the mental health charity SANE, on the Care Quality Commission’s Mental Health Act Review:

“Our concern is people are often not sufficiently aware of any rights they may have to care and treatment, and do not always get the help that they need.

“This is not just about the lack of resources, but also the culture of mental healthcare provision. What is needed is more one-to-one patient care, much greater involvement of families and carers, more therapeutic activities for patients, and better access to staff in evenings and outside regular hours.”
