Harnham gets muddy for mental health
Added: 7th Aug 2018

10 employees of Harnham Search and Selection raised over £2,100 for SANE.

They wanted to raise money for SANE to show their support of raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

‘We are thrilled to be supporting SANE. As a business, Harnham have always taken mental health very seriously. We all have friends and family who have suffered from mental illness and are fully aware of the struggle that the stigma surrounding mental health conditions can cause.

The work that SANE do is incredible and reflects our ethos of prioritising awareness and support; we provide a host of mental wellbeing benefits and initiatives, including an employee assistance program providing 24/7 counselling and advice.’

So our brave fundraisers trained hard and trudged through 10 miles of mud and obstacles in the Tough Mudder challenge last month. They ran, swam, swung and flung themselves in water and mud for mental health.

Fundraiser Rob Quirk says:

‘Crossing the start line together, we pushed ourselves to the limit, clambering over walls and each other to make it past each obstacle…. The whole (OK, well most) of the experience was a joy and we capped off the day with a wash, a beer and the joy of watching England beat Sweden. All in all, a day to remember.’

The group received generous donations from corporate sponsors, 4Mat and OrangeGenie.

And they are so close to meeting their £3,000 target!

We want to say a big thank you to all those who have donated to Harnham’s page so far and welcome more donations that will go towards the work that we do to help those in mental health crisis.

Harnham have worked amazingly and we thank you for your great support. Muddy well done!
