Fundraiser runs half marathon in two hours
Added: 19th Jun 2018

SANE fundraiser runs a half marathon in under two hours!

Fabiano ran the Hackney Half Marathon for SANE on 20th May. He beat his personal best (2:18pb) and completed the run before the two hours was up.

He knew he wanted to run for mental health and SANE was lucky to be his chosen charity. Fabiano has friends, family and colleagues who suffer with mental health issues and wanted to run to show support and understanding.

‘Due to my precious lack of knowledge I wasn’t the most supportive to those affected.

By continuing to raise money to help SANE remove the stigma around these issues I’d like to begin a positive and more supportive journey for my affected peers.’

So far, Fabiano has raised nearly £500 for SANE. His employer has generously agreed to match this total, so this will bring his overall donation to £1000 which is simply fantastic!

Fabiano does not stop here! He is cycling from Aberdeen to London in August and raising money for SANE again.

‘Thanks to Fabiano’s fundraising, SANE will be able to fully train a new volunteer who will receive 90 hours of high-quality training. His generous support will enable people in crisis to have someone to listen to their call and to provide them understanding, compassion and guidance.

On their behalf, thank you so much Fabiano.’
