New Year Honours recognition for SANE’s honorary scientific director
Added: 30th Dec 2017

SANE is delighted that Professor Timothy Crow has been awarded the Order of the British Empire in the New Year Honours for services to schizophrenia research and treatment.

Professor Crow has acted as the honorary scientific director of the Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE Research (POWIC) since it was opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2003.

Marjorie Wallace, chief executive of SANE, said: “Professor Crow’s passion and persistence in finding the causes of severe mental illness such as schizophrenia has been an inspiration to many in the field.

“Promoting and facilitating research is one of SANE’s three aims, and cracking the secrets of the mind and brain remains one of the most vital ways in which we can transform treatments and therapies for those with severe and enduring mental illness.”
