Santa Fun Run
Added: 19th Dec 2017

We were lucky to have our wonderful Santas run for SANE and they really got into the festive spirit!

On 3rd December, the Santa Fun Run took place in Victoria Park. Our runners were dressed in Santa outfits and had the choice to run the 5km or 10km around the park.

It all started with a fun Christmas costume competition for all ages (and canines) and then everybody began their runs.

Simone Moraes, Community and Events Officer at SANE, says:

‘It was lovely to meet up with our runners on the day and watch them giving their best. In my eyes they personified what Santa really means: helping others who cannot help themselves. Thank you to all our Santas.’

Alex Wood, SANE Santa runner, found the day enjoyable and loved the happy atmosphere.

‘I loved taking part in the run and supporting SANE. This charity means a lot to me and my family and I felt good running for this important cause.’

Rhoda Quist, Fundraising intern, attended the day also.

‘I saw parents wheeling their buggies, couples running together and the elderly all participating. I loved the team spirit on the day!

I felt the Santa Fun Run gave a really good take home message, that no matter who you are or how old, we can ALL raise money for a good cause!’

It truly was a wonderful day and our fundraisers did really well! Between them, they have raised over £1600!

They pushed themselves to cross the Finish line and they truly did SANE proud – so thank you.

We wish all our amazing fundraisers and supporters a peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year!
