Someone to talk to at Christmas
Added: 15th Dec 2017

The holiday season can be an occasion for companionship and enjoyment, but it can also be a distressing time of the year for many people living with mental illness.

That’s why SANEline will again be open as usual throughout the Christmas period to offer emotional support, guidance and practical information to those in need.

Marjorie Wallace, chief executive of SANE, says: “For many people with mental health problems, the Christmas period can feel full of darkness rather than light. The sense of loneliness and feeling excluded from society can be exacerbated by the festivities.

“SANE can’t be a substitute for family and friends but we offer someone to turn to, and someone who can listen and understand.”
