Climbing Kilimanjaro for SANE
Added: 28th Sep 2017

Our lovely SANE supporter Beth Sawyer climbed Kilimanjaro and raised over £1,000 for us!

The trek took place earlier this month and we are very proud of her great strength and determination to raise awareness of mental health in this way.

Simone Moraes, SANE's Community and Events Officer, says:

‘Beth fundraised for SANE through the Kilimanjaro trek. Even though she could not make it all the way, she was able to reach 5000m up! In my opinion she did marvellously well!

And she raised £1100 so far! This gift will help fund 44 hourly personalised Caller Care support for someone isolated and vulnerable.

Beth, you are a star!’

She took wonderful photos from her expedition that she shared with us.

Beth said:

‘One of the photos with all the clouds in the background was about 4900/5000m up!’

To all who supported Beth on her challenge, we thank you. It is always wonderful to hear such amazing experiences from our fundraisers and it reminds us how important our work is.

Here’s to abolishing the stigma!

Look out for Beth’s photo on SANE’s Twitter and Instagram.
