WHAT ITS LIKE TO LIVE LIFE AS A PERSON WITH ASPERGERS SYNDROME AKA AUTISM
david1

At the age of 5 years old, I was diagnosed with the condition Aspergers Syndrome. My 2 youngest sisters also have aspergers syndrome, but their's is a slight severe condition. I had a great childhood and well up bringing. From the year of 2006 I left college and began life as an unemployed man. I started having about of depression from around 2007 and I started self harming which was not quite nice..

My parents were married at the time and they suspected what the marks on my arm were and how i ended up doing that. I decided to go and see a g.p for further help. And i got refered to a mental health practiioner which didnt go very well as they believe that their services werent right for me. The self harming continued on and off for a couple of years..

My parents split up and i was sent to live with my dad which i was very uncomfortable with, as me and my dad hardly communicate and i never considered to be close with him.. We continuosly argued and one time he moved another person into the flat without notification and that sent me really worse. Eventually dad agreed to let the person go out of the flat and i thought it was for the best if i moved in with my mam.

As a gay man i have had a few relationships with other men which did not go down well at all. I recently ended a relationship after one year, as he never treated me the way i wanted to be treat.. My self harming and well being started to worsen. I was then put on anti depressants which i am on currently.. If i miss taking them i tend to get irritable and upset. This had happened at work a few times my manager and my job advisor know about this.. They had a chat with me to put things into place whenever i next get into a negative situation.

At the moment ive been trying to get some information on depression and they suggested sane. I do feel a lot better now im writing my story to share with others who have a more or less simular situation to me
