Understanding Service User Treatment Choices

When it comes to treatments for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, the norm seems to be that service user behaviour does not coincide with clinical prescription. At least half of service users with these diagnoses do not fully follow agreed treatment.

Our aim is to further the understanding of the different ways in which, and the reasons why, people diagnosed with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder do or do not follow their treatment recommendations, both medical and non-medical.

SANE began recruiting to this study in November 2010. Please click here to enter the online Research Centre, where you can find out more.
