Welcome to the SANE Community. More than 5,000 people have already registered. Please join and show your support for mental health.
Your presence and goodwill would add positive energy to our efforts. Joining is free and does not carry specific commitments.
Each person will find their own way to participate, over time. And every contribution is highly valued: whether it is visible or invisible, giving or receiving, intellectual or activity-based.
The idea behind the SANE Community comes from our experience that mental illness affects us all. Our community reflects the whole spectrum of society: from those people directly affected, to carers, family and friends. It also includes service users, donors, artists, volunteers, funders, research participants, campaigners, journalists and health professionals. The inspiration came from a simple observation:
“One of SANE's most compelling achievements has been its ability to help, educate and influence hundreds of thousands of people over a 25-year history.” Paul Flitcroft, Director of Fundraising and Marketing
SANE has been able to offer positive help to so many people, without ever having the capability to sustain an interactive dialogue. This is partly due to the fact that much of our work is done on an anonymous or confidential basis. Now, technology allows us to address this situation, without compromising our principles or ways of working. Each person in the SANE Community can determine their own identity and thus preserve anonymity if they choose.
SANE is delighted to be able to bring all our diverse supporters together into one community - all connected by the shared understanding that mental health matters.
There are several compelling reasons why we at SANE want to do this:
We sincerely hope you will be inspired to join us.
