In December 2010, SANE staff were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of Ruby Wax's new show 'Losing It', in which Ruby gives a frank and witty account of her experience of mental illness and rephrases the question and addresses herself with it: 'When you lose your mind, where does it actually go?'

Alongside her is singer/songwriter and longtime friend Judith Owen - who has also suffered from mental ill-health - performing touching and reflective music to compliment Ruby's earthy exploration through the journey of a breakdown.

Together they use the script and music to meander through the compulsive ruminations of a depressive with spine-chilling accuracy. Ruby offers thought-provoking witticisms on the absence of a ‘manual' to guide us through life and the loss of identity which showbiz can conceal.
