After an amazing effort from our 10K runners last year, we are once again looking forward to the British 10K London Run in July. SANE has charity places available, so if you’re interested in taking part please contact us.
This year's theme is 'Linking the Past to the Present', in honour of the Centenary of the First World War. The route passes by London's most iconic war memorials, including the Battle of Britain Memorial, the Cenotaph, and the new Bomber Command Memorial. The opening ceremony on race day will be attended by over 150 soldiers and by horses from Steven Spielberg's War Horse, with riders in period dress. It will be a spectacular day, and a fitting commemoration of the First World War.
Runners will also be able to take in some of London's other world-renowned landmarks, such as St. James's Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, before finishing on Whitehall. It really is a must for anyone who loves London!
We need your help to make this year's event the best yet, and raise vital funds and awareness to support better mental health. We ask our runners to raise £250; in the past we have found most supporters raise well in excess of this. You’ll be provided with a race pack, containing all you need for the day. You’ll also receive access to free online personal training from Runcoach, a historic finisher’s medal, and 20% off central London attractions!
Take a look at the video below to hear about the experiences of some past runners.
Last year we raised a fantastic £8,837 from the British 10K London Run. If you would like to take on a challenge this summer and help us beat that figure, please become a member of team SANE.
