What NHS Mental Health System??

So after 20 years of a yo-yo'ing mental health problem a new GP decides it may be helpful to get a diagnosis to know what support is best to provide me with - hallelujah! So he refers me to the Hellesdon Hospital Adult Recovery at Norwich to request an assessment and diagnosis. I receive a letter two weeks later asking me to ring a number to arrange a telephone assessment. TELEPHONE ASSESSMENT?? So I ring the number expecting to be able to make some sort of face to face appointment. NOPE. I have to wait until the 15th of OCTOBER for someone to PHONE me so I can tell them the same thing again, that I need to be referred for assessment and diagnosis. Then hopefully this person will refer me. What is that about?! That is utter crap of the highest nature. My GP wants me assessed by a psychiatrist for a diagnosis - why on earth does someone need to ring me, for me to tell them that, for them to then refer me when my GP has already requested this?

So someone phones me on the 15th of October and I say my GP referred me for an assessment and diagnosis. The person says okay we can do that you have to wait for an appointment.

NEXT YEAR I may receive an appointment. THIS IS NOT SERVICE, THIS IS NOT SUPPORT, THIS IS A JOKE.
