It's good to have a project. I've now got a reason to get up in the morning (other than my job - or jobs!) And keeping well and fit seems to have a real purpose... I'm eating better. I've found getting frozen veg and keeping it in the freezer, for micro-waving, allows you to have fresh broccoli, spinach, and cabbage - and I should buy some carrots! - whenever you need them, in minutes. For mental and spiritual health you need to look after your body, especially at my age (64)... And I've told people at work, who know a little of my story, that if ever seem to have not bothered with looking okay, if I haven't shaved for a few days, if I stink (let's be honest), if I don't seem to care... they should look out for signs that I'm ill. (Touch wood, it'll never happen again, of course!)

I have always maintained a light discipline, and some routine. Even in hospital, where things can feel chaotic, I've managed, when I am not too much under duress, to keep my immediate surroundings, bed, bedside-cupboard, tidy. It helps to take pride in these little personal matters. Perhaps you've found that too.
