Celebrate International Day of Encouragement and International Mindfulness Day by Amanda

September 12 is International Day of Encouragement. Here are three suggestions to help encourage either yourself or someone you care about.

  1. Send them a note. This can either be through the post or via email. Remind them that even though things get tough, life gets better.
  2. Go see your friend and just hang out. Sometimes all the encouragement someone needs is just a friend to stop by and hang out for the afternoon. If you are unable to go visit a friend you can always give them a call.
  3. Encourage yourself by setting goals. I know that one way I give myself encouragement is by setting small goals and then reaching them.

September 12th is international Mindfulness Day. As I sit here writing this blog a lot comes to mind. I feel very happy to have all the blessings I have in my life. My grandpa is very supportive of my career. He keeps telling me to keep writing and not to give up on my goal. He has helped me since I was sixteen years old. He actually took me in after my mother died. I feel very blessed that he helps me with my bills.

I feel very happy to have many friends around the world that support me. They are very supportive when it comes to my mental health. They remind me to have mindfulness of what I do have and to keep working on my goals.

When I go through a tough time with my depression or anxiety, I remind myself to have mindfulness on what I do have. This helps me cope.
