Often, it is very difficult to identify the root cause of a problem- especially when you are distressed by it. It requires much introspection and lateral thinking- so how can self-care be achieved?
I find that a little retrospective reflection coupled with meditation can help me to understand what it is that may lead to the onset of negative emotions. By conducting this process, I have witnessed a great development in my ability to control emotions and deal with potential setbacks; this is due to the fact that I am able to take a neutral perspective and evaluate the possible ways to respond to a situation.
Ultimately, self-care is a powerful tool that, if used correctly, can be the source of willpower and motivation to overcome any negative emotions and make the most out of a difficult situation.
