A portrait of SANE's founder and chief executive, Marjorie Wallace, was displayed at the National Portrait Gallery from June to November 2006 as part of their photographic display focusing on the health sector. The display, A Picture of Health profiles some of the outstanding men and women who have shaped healthcare at the beginning of the 21st century.
Taken by Julia Fullerton-Batten, the intriguing portraits capture the subjects in settings that provide an insight into their working environment.
Majorie was honoured to be chosen as the sole representative of the mental health field. The picture depicts her as a romantic crusader wearing blue silk and sitting at a grand piano at The Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE Research in Oxford.
