The winners of the annual Telephone Helplines Association (THA) Awards were announced at a ceremony on 24th November, held at the BT Centre in London.
The Awards aim to highlight and share significant achievement by the Association’s members over the past year, and to complement the THA Quality Standard in promoting quality and confidence for callers to helplines.
The theme for 2004 was ‘Confidentiality’ and the categories were: Helpline volunteer of the year; Confidential partnership working; Confidential email service; and Most innovative publicity.
Voted for by THA members, the award for Helpline Volunteer of the Year had returned by popular demand to recognise the special contribution of volunteers on helplines. SANEline’s own David Gee was shortlisted for this award, receiving a certificate and having his achievements outlined by Baroness Howarth at the ceremony.
SANEline itself received the prestigious Quality Standard Accreditation, accepted by Helen Hyslop, Director of Operations.
