SANE commends "Phil and Me", a photographic account of a daughter's relationship with her schizophrenic father.

Through her photographs Amanda Tetrault meets head-on the stigma often felt by people with serious mental illness, their family and carers, unflinchingly recording the bouts of homelessness and alcoholism that exacerbate Phil's illness as well as documenting his humanity and the strength of their relationship.

SANE actively campaigns against stigma and welcomes this moving account.

‘Phil and Me’ is published by Trolley Books.
An exhibition of the photographs will be held at the Trolley Books Gallery, 73a Redchurch Street, London E2, opening on 30th September at 6.30pm and ending on World Mental Health Day, 10th October 2004.
