SANELINE is working with the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund in Hackney to deliver emotional support and information both during the day and crucially out of hours to anyone affected by mental illness.

The helpline will link local people with local services, thereby improving access to services for people with mental health problems in Hackney. 

Additional funding from Hackney’s Reserve Projects Fund has been particularly welcomed, enabling SANELINE to produce specific translated awareness and promotional materials in Turkish, Kurdish, Somali and Vietnamese to reflect local language and cultural needs, including the needs of refugees and asylum seekers, who may be more reluctant to seek help from family or mental health professionals.

An Outreach Worker will play a significant role in raising awareness, maximising equitable access to the helpline and strengthening relationships with mental health service users, carers and statutory and voluntary organisations.
