Congratulations to Marjorie Wallace, SANE's chief executive, who has been named 'Campaigner of the Year' by The Oldie magazine. Marjorie received the award in recognition for her services in the field of mental health at a star-studded dinner attended by such luminaries as Jeremy Irons, Joan Bakewell and Lord (Melvyn) Bragg of Wigton.

A portrait of SANE's founder and chief executive, Marjorie Wallace, was displayed at the National Portrait Gallery from June to November 2006 as part of their photographic display focusing on the health sector. The display, A Picture of Health profiles some of the outstanding men and women who have shaped healthcare at the beginning of the 21st century.
SANEline extends opening hours

SANE is thrilled to be able to announce that from Monday 8 May 2006, our unique helpline SANEline will be open from 1pm to 11pm every day of the year. These hours will replace the existing opening hours of 12 noon -11pm on weekdays and 12 noon to 6pm at weekends.
