Nacro, the crime reduction charity, aims to make society safer by finding practical solutions to reducing crime. They work to give ex-offenders, disadvantaged people and deprived communities the help they need to build a better future. Nacro runs services nationwide including projects for individuals and communities and research, consultancy and training services for people and organisations involved in reducing crime, including youth crime.
National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA)
The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA) aims to address the needs of children growing up in families where one or both parents are affected by alcoholism or a similar addictive problem. This includes children of alcohol dependent parents of all ages, many of whose problems only become apparent in adulthood. The charity runs a helpline which provides emotional support and information on these issues, to young people.
